"Yes"

There’s a song that has really been resonating with me and Rob lately. It has some powerful lyrics. It’s by Lindy and the Circuit Riders, called “Obedience.” You can listen to it here.

These are the words:

Verse 1

I pour out all my worship

With my life my everything

My tears they fall before You

From what Your love

Has done to me

Pre Chorus

I see Your ‘yes’ to me

In Your nail-pierced hands

I will love You Lord

And walk in Your commands

This is more than words

More than a song

It's my life laid down

There's action involved

More than words more than a song

It's my life laid down

Chorus

I will love You with my ‘yes’

And with my obedience

I will love You with my ‘yes’ Jesus

Verse 2

And I lay down my own will

To take up Yours and Yours alone

I lay down reputation

I live for You and You alone

Pre Chorus

I see Your ‘yes’ to me

In Your nail-pierced hands

I will love You Lord

And walk in Your commands

This is more than words

More than a song

It's my life laid down

There's action involved

More than words more than a song

It's my life laid down

Chorus

I will love You with my ‘yes’

And with my obedience

I will love You with my ‘yes’ Jesus

Bridge

It's my joy to lose my life

And find it in Jesus Christ

I'll find it in Jesus Christ

Bridge

And it's my joy to lose my life

And find it in Jesus Christ

We find it in Jesus Christ

Chorus

I will love You with my ‘yes’

And with my obedience

I will love You with my ‘yes’ Jesus

Bridge

It's my joy to lose my life

And find it in Jesus Christ

I'll find it in Jesus Christ

Chorus

I will love You with my ‘yes’

And with my obedience

I will love You with my ‘yes’ Jesus

Rob and I have chosen a wild, adventure-filled, water-walking life of saying ‘yes’ to Jesus.

I’m not going to lie, there are times when our lives had not made one lick of sense and we were questioning our sanity. Actually, questioning our sanity happens somewhat often as we follow His lead. I have a phrase I used to describe our faith-walk in speaking of the level of trust we do our best to operate in as we grow in our relationship with Him: “Stupid faith.”

I call it "stupid faith" because you either have to be an insane idiot to believe some of the stuff for which we have stepped out in faith, or you must have some serious trust in Him!

It’s the level of faith you have that, if this goes south, it will REALLY go bad really quickly, and if it all goes well, everyone around us will only ever be able to say of it, “Well, THAT was God right there!”

He’s proven Himself faithful time and time again, though. He’s led us into opportunities and experiences we never would have had if we had not chosen to trust Him and love Him with our ‘yes.’

If you haven’t sold out and signed on the dotted line, now is the time to choose to love Him with your ‘yes’ and see just how amazing (crazy, but amazing) your life becomes as a result.
