Have you ever had one of those days that you just wished were over before it really began? The kind where you're irritated, tired, feeling rushed and overwhelmed? Yeah, that's been my day today.
There's a verse in the Bible in Lamentations 3:22-23 that says, "Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness." My response to this is, "It's morning somewhere in the Universe!" This is the promise I stand on when I need a reset to my day.
Another go-to verse is Isaiah 47:7, "Our Redeemer, the LORD of hosts is His name, The Holy One of Israel." He is the Redeemer of ANYTHING that needs redeeming! So, when I have a lousy day, I just ask Him to redeem it.
When I'm in the middle of warfare, I have learned to go to the Communion table and receive from Him the rest and the restoration I need in His presence, and I wage warfare from a position of peace and victory. The best strategy for spiritual warfare is to focus on Jesus: who He is, what He has done, and how He has made you to be righteous - positioned in rightstanding with the Father - and heir to all that is His.
I encourage you today to take time to meditate on His finished work on the Cross and how His victory has become your victory in Christ Jesus. And, if you need to start your day over, do it at the Table He has prepared for you (Psalm 23:5-6).
